  • BlackCat Superyachts expand their portfolio with a 35m concept by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design

BlackCat Superyachts expand their portfolio with a 35m concept by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design

BlackCat Superyachts have announced the latest addition to their portfolio of luxury catamarans. This 35m design is the second from the groundbreaking BlackCat range and continues in the same distinctive lines and styling created by the Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design studio.

The 35m (114ft) BlackCat, built completely from carbon fibre, will perform exceptionally well under sail and will be extremely fuel efficient when under power. She has a beam of 14m providing a huge internal volume and a deck space that is substantially larger than a monohull of equivalent length.

The BlackCat 35 provides accommodation for up to eight guests in six cabins, as well as four crew. The main deck saloon is on a single level and is spacious enough to cater for large dinner parties and entertainment.

Capable of cruising at 20 knots and a maximum speed of 32 knots, with a low heel angle and a stable platform, the BlackCat 35 is an attractive alternative for any owner considering a 40-45m monohull.

Each design can be customised down to the smallest detail, to suit a client’s wishes.

The cost analysis of the BlackCat 35 indicates the metre-to-metre cost comes in below that of a carbon fibre monohull of the same volume.

BlackCat Superyachts’ team of specialists include award-winning boatbuilder Baltic Yachts – a world leader in carbon composite yachts, and North Technology Group, who will provide and optimise the sails and rig package. Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design remains the chief designer on this project, and M2 Atelier are responsible for the internal styling.

Y.co have recently been appointed to handle all BlackCat sales enquiries.

“After launching the BlackCat 50M model in 2016, it became apparent that the market appetite for a high-quality superyacht multihull is rapidly growing. The BlackCat 35 offers the same characteristics of style and performance in this smaller model.” – Mitch Booth, multihull expert and BlackCat Founder

  • Frers 78ft Motor Yacht

    Frers 78ft Motor Yacht

This custom motor yacht, designed by Germán Mani Frers, is for an owner who’s new to Baltic Yachts. In switching from his past ownership of production sailing yachts to a fully custom motor yacht, he wanted a design built by a shipyard with a leading reputation for precision, composite engineering and construction.

The yacht’s interior compliments the owner’s bold and confident style, with bright accent colours in all cabins created using specialist Italian paint finishes.

The yacht has been detailed to a high level with every aspect considered – from hidden device docking and charging stations to coloured wardrobe and cupboard interiors, matching a cabin’s accent colour scheme.

The yacht will have three en-suite cabins and the master cabin also features a walk-in wardrobe. Two crew cabins are separated by a laundry area, with access to the engine room.

  • YN 17850 Project Nova: Cristiano Gatto appointed interior stylist

YN 17850 Project Nova: Cristiano Gatto appointed interior stylist

Heesen Yachts is delighted to announce that the owner of Project Nova (YN 17850) has appointed Italian designer Cristiano Gatto as interior stylist.

Sold in June 2016, Project Nova is the world’s first Fast Displacement with hybrid propulsion. The client, a yacht enthusiast, was attracted by the dynamic exterior design and the impressive performance of this innovative and super quiet superyacht.

“The owner asked us to modify colour scheme, design details and overall decoration to give the interior a contemporary, almost minimalist design,” comments Cristiano Gatto, who worked closely with the owner and his team to personalise the interior to match the client’s lifestyle. “We stepped in when the outfitting works were at an advanced stage, so we had to work with the existing structures. A two-tone palette has been chosen to give the interiors a bright and relaxing feel. The contrast between the pure white of fabrics, leather and lacquered surfaces and the warm hues of woods, create a sophisticated ambience in all the rooms, bathrooms included. Hints of colour brighten the scheme with deep red or burgundy decorative items, cushions and throws in both the exterior and interior areas to catch the eye and juice things up. The linearity of design is enriched by geometrical patterns, precious materials and meticulously designed details.”

Project Nova is scheduled to be launched on April 14, 2017, at the Heesen shipyard in Oss.
