BlackCat Superyachts expand their portfolio with a 35m concept by Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design
BlackCat Superyachts have announced the latest addition to their portfolio of luxury catamarans. This 35m design is the second from the groundbreaking BlackCat range and continues in the same distinctive lines and styling created by the Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design studio.
The 35m (114ft) BlackCat, built completely from carbon fibre, will perform exceptionally well under sail and will be extremely fuel efficient when under power. She has a beam of 14m providing a huge internal volume and a deck space that is substantially larger than a monohull of equivalent length.
The BlackCat 35 provides accommodation for up to eight guests in six cabins, as well as four crew. The main deck saloon is on a single level and is spacious enough to cater for large dinner parties and entertainment.
Capable of cruising at 20 knots and a maximum speed of 32 knots, with a low heel angle and a stable platform, the BlackCat 35 is an attractive alternative for any owner considering a 40-45m monohull.
Each design can be customised down to the smallest detail, to suit a client’s wishes.
The cost analysis of the BlackCat 35 indicates the metre-to-metre cost comes in below that of a carbon fibre monohull of the same volume.
BlackCat Superyachts’ team of specialists include award-winning boatbuilder Baltic Yachts – a world leader in carbon composite yachts, and North Technology Group, who will provide and optimise the sails and rig package. Malcolm McKeon Yacht Design remains the chief designer on this project, and M2 Atelier are responsible for the internal styling.
Y.co have recently been appointed to handle all BlackCat sales enquiries.
“After launching the BlackCat 50M model in 2016, it became apparent that the market appetite for a high-quality superyacht multihull is rapidly growing. The BlackCat 35 offers the same characteristics of style and performance in this smaller model.” – Mitch Booth, multihull expert and BlackCat Founder
