OUT OF THIS WORLD TECHNOLOGY TO APPEAR AT AMERICAN EXPRESS WORLD LUXURY EXPO IN RIYADH

An “Out Of This World” elite supercar key will appear at the 4th American Express World Luxury Expo in Riyadh.

Senturion (also official partner of the Lotus F1 Team) have created a Senturion supercar key which is in fact a high technology device or bracelet made from meteorite deposits.

At its core the Senturion Meteorite contains a Widmanstätten etch pattern (these are fine, interweaving bands of metallic elements) lifted from iron meteorite deposits.

And while there are 500 iterations of the bracelet being made, the etching on each bracelet is unique.

The main purpose of this bracelet is that it is embedded with RFID technology that enables you to use this as a wireless entry system capable of syncing with the locks in your house, personal jewellery vault and of course your supercar.

However it’s not just about the tech spec: every bracelet passes through seven stages of craftsmanship and machine production, and also comes in palladium.

The Senturion bracelet will be on a fully functioning display with a Lamborghini showcasing the wireless entry systems and how this amazing interaction works.

The device is the type of high-tech and cutting edge instrument that one would expect from James Bond 007 and can be synchronised with leading supercars and luxury vehicles.

Senturion are official partners of the Lotus F1 Team www.senturionkey.com

  • Project Nova now christened HOME!

    Project Nova now christened HOME!

Heesen Yachts is proud to announce that on Friday, April 14, 2017 the Owner of YN 17850 (aka Project Nova) christened his new yacht HOME during a ceremony at the facility in Oss.
M/Y HOME is the world’s first Fast Displacement equipped with hybrid propulsion.
She is not only an ultra-efficient, low fuel-burning yacht, but also one of the quietest on the oceans, offering the ultimate luxury: Silent cruise.

Thanks to two water cooled DC electric shaft motors, each 127 kW, she will cruise at 9 knots using the generators alone, allowing the crew to leave the harbour without waking the Owner and his guests!
There are two sources of power for propulsion: diesel mechanical and diesel electrical. Either source can be used independently or simultaneously, providing less noise and vibration, more flexible power management, and increased efficiency.

With a transatlantic range of 3,750nm at a cruising speed of 12 knots, M/Y HOME’s top speed is 16.3 knots, which is particularly outstanding given that it is achieved with just two MTU 12V, 600 kW each – relatively small engines for a yacht of her size. This proves, once again, the remarkable efficiency of the Fast Displacement Hull Form devised by Van Oossanen and implemented by Heesen’s in-house naval architects.

Yachts Middle East - Heesen Yachts - Home

M/Y HOME is a 50m aluminium motoryacht below the 500GT threshold with a radical exterior design by Omega Architects. Thanks to her shallow draft of 2.15 metres, Home is the ideal yacht for swanning around in the clear waters of the Bahamas. Her contemporary profile with vertical bow, striking superstructure, wide central staircase to access the spacious aft platform from the main deck and profuse use of glass, are just some of the design features that make this yacht a cut above others in her class.

The Owner, a yacht enthusiast, appointed Cristiano Gatto Design to create an interior style that matches his lifestyle. The Italian designer and his team drew a sophisticated linear design based on a two-tone palette that gives a relaxed and bright feel throughout the whole interior. Fabrics, leathers, and lacquered surfaces are in polar white contrasting with the warmth of the wood. Deep red and burgundy loose furniture and accessories catch the eye and jazz up the almost minimalist design. Iconic pieces of loose furniture have been carefully selected to decorate the space: Paola Lenti outdoor furniture dominates on the decks and in the sky lounge, while a stunning contemporary stainless steel lounge chair by Franco Poli stands out in the main saloon. Dining tables and bars are custom designed by Cristiano Gatto and perfectly executed by the fine carpenters of Heesen Yachts Interiors.

The Owner’s apartment is located on the main deck forward and includes a private study, a large bathroom with shower stall and a full beam bed room with floor-to-ceiling glass windows that give a wonderful sense of en plein air. Guests are accommodated in five luxurious staterooms on the lower deck: two doubles, two twins and one full-beam VIP suite. The wellness area – with gymnasium and SPA – is located on the lower deck aft, adjacent to the engine room, and has convenient direct access to the main deck aft through an internal staircase.

One of the most outstanding areas on board Home is the sky lounge with floor-to-ceiling windows like a veranda overlooking the ocean. To enhance the outdoor-indoor connection Cristiano Gatto brought the exterior teak into the interior to create seamless flow between the upper lounge and the aft deck dining area.

Following her launch, HOME will remain in the harbour in Oss to commence commissioning of her systems, and will then move to Rotterdam where she will undergo her sea trials and official tests before delivery to her owners in June.

M/Y HOME is the first of a new breed of Heesens: cleaner, quieter and more fuel-efficient superyachts.

  • CRN UNVEILS THE CONCEPT OF ITS NEW 62-METRE YACHT, CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION

CRN UNVEILS THE CONCEPT OF ITS NEW 62-METRE YACHT, CURRENTLY UNDER CONSTRUCTION

Ancona, 10 April – CRN, Italian Shipbuilder and brand of Ferretti Group specialising in the construction of fully-custom steel and aluminium pleasure vessels between 40 and 100 metres, is excited to share the first details of the Shipyard’s hull number 137.

The new yacht has been engineered by CRN’s Ancona-based Technical Department, complimented by Italian firm Nuvolari Lenard, who took care of exterior concept and interior design.

At 62 metres long and with a beam of 11.50 meters, this yacht embodies CRN’s modern approach to displacement motor yachts.

Classical lines have been replaced by the unmistakable all-Italian style of Nuvolari Lenard, revealing rakish and yet harmonious lines that seem to be shaped by the wind. The bow is vertical, not to follow the current trend, but to ensure maximum length in the water, thereby increasing speed and maximising the forward volumes, where the garage is located.

CRN’s Technical Department turned Nuvolari Lenard’s concept into reality by optimising technical spaces with no detriment to the interior layout. The aft Owner’s stateroom, opens up to the al fresco dining area. The upper deck, which has now become the Owner’s Deck, includes a forward panoramic lounge that can remain, at the discretion of the owner, private or open.

The new vessel features 5 decks and includes the Owner’s stateroom and 5 VIP cabins, hosting up to 12 guests. It will be equipped with two MTU 12V4000 M63 1500 Kw @1800 RPM engines that will push it to a maximum speed of 16 knots.

Three more vessels are currently under construction at CRN: 74 m M/Y CRN 131, to be delivered during the spring and presented as an international première at the Monaco Yacht Show in September; 79 m M/Y CRN 135; and 50 m M/Y CRN 136 “Superconero”.

RÉN: THE AUTONOMOUS SEMI-SWATH SUPER YACHT

Rén (Chinese for ‘benevolence’) is the result of a master thesis by Karel Nguyen initiated at the Delft University of Technology in cooperation with Guido de Groot Design. The goal of this project was to design an advanced yachting concept tailored to the future Chinese elite.

Yachts Middle East - Yacht Rén Heli Pad

The fictional client of Rén, named ‘Jasmin’ (originally ‘Jiaying’), is a 34 years old self-made billionaire, married, and has two children. Having reached a peak in her career, her new goals are to focus more on her children, educating the next generation, and helping society. Jasmin believes that yachting can help her achieving her new goals. As a strong believer of ‘Responsible yachting’, the purpose of Rén is to enjoy leisure time with family and friends, organise social events, initiate maritime research projects to restore local waters, and to help coastal disaster areas during the typhoon season.

Regarding these scenarios, the semi-SWATH hull was chosen, due to its excellent sea keeping abilities, static and dynamic stability, and its large usable areas on board. With 2 diesel-electric propulsion systems and 4 supportive gen sets, Rén can cruise fully electric in protected areas and diesel-electric for a boost to avoid storms.

  • Van der Valk to open new facility in golden jubilee year

Van der Valk to open new facility in golden jubilee year

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands is celebrating its golden jubilee in 2017 and will mark 50 years of quality yachtbuilding by opening a new and larger construction hall in the spring. This exciting development follows on from the Dutch yard’s successful participation at the Boot Düsseldorf show and will be seamlessly integrated with the launching of seven major projects in the months ahead.

The new Van der Valk production hall will allow us to build motoryachts up to 40+ metres in length with up to three decks – something for which the existing facilities had been slightly too small. Construction of the facility has already started, with the steel framing of the construction completely finished.

The shell of the new hall – the roof and walls – will be completed in time for the Experience Event, which will be held from 23-26 March. This annual open-house occasion allows Van der Valk owners and potential clients to take a comprehensive look behind the scenes at the yard and see the latest projects in build and close to completion.

    A good year
These new developments – and the celebrations of half-a-century of yachtbuilding – follow up on a successful 2016 for Van der Valk. The yard launched some highly-acclaimed yachts, of which the 23-metre Grey Falcon (one of the fastest Van der Valk’s ever launched with a top speed of 32 knots) was one. The yard also received a number of new orders, the most recent being a semi-custom sister vessel to Grey Falcon, which will be delivered in 2018. More information on this flybridge yacht will be forthcoming soon.

Yachts Middle East - Van der Valk - Beach Club

    Beach life
Another highlight of 2016 was Van der Valk’s unique concept for midsize motoryachts developed in cooperation with the designer Cor D. Rover and Ginton Naval Architects. This new all-aluminium Van der Valk BeachClub line will comprise an engine room in the same area as the swimming platform, giving owners an unprecedented amount of space, both indoors and out. While the patent is still pending on this innovative concept, construction of the first of the new yachts will start.

    Seven new launches
A busy year is ahead for the yard with no less than seven new vessels due to be launched in 2017: three flybridge yachts of 18, 23 and 27 metres respectively, two 26-metre raised pilothouse yachts, a 25-metre explorer and the 19.05-metre BeachClub 600. Van der Valk will also work on a number of refit projects as the skills of its craftsmen and engineers continue to attract new clients.

    About Van der Valk Shipyard
Van der Valk Shipyard has been constructing both steel and aluminium motor yachts since 1968. The family-owned shipyard employs more than 45 craftsmen and is located in Waalwijk, the Netherlands. Its founder Wim Van der Valk is still a driving force behind the company. The yard has primarily earned its worldwide reputation from the award-winning semi-custom Continental series. Van der Valk also has the capacity to build fully custom designs.

  • Heesen unveils Project Maia, 50m steel displacement motoryacht

Heesen unveils Project Maia, 50m steel displacement motoryacht

Project Maia (YN 18350) is a 50m steel hulled, full-displacement motoryacht below the 500GT threshold with exterior design by Clifford Denn and interiors by Reymond Langton.

She has accommodation for 10 guests in 5 staterooms, master suite on the main deck forward, four guest suites, 3 doubles and one twin on the lower deck. Crew accommodation is for 10 in 5 cabins.

Maia’s tenders are carried on the fore deck where they can be easily and quickly deployed, and allow for a luxurious beach club, complete with a bar, sauna and pulsating sound system.

Powered by two MTU 1,000 kW engines Project Maia will reach a top speed of 15 knots and will have a range of 3,800nm at cruising speed of 12 knots. At 10 knots the fuel consumption will be 95 L/h and at maximum speed (15 knots) it will be 390 L/h.

Project Maia’s naval architecture and engineering is done by Heesen’s in-house talented and uber-experienced team.

Clifford Denn created this gorgeous, flowing, simple yet complex exterior design which sets Maia apart from all competitors.

Maia’s profile embodies Heesen’s DNA yet also includes original design elements that give her a unique and distinctive look.

Yachts Middle East - Heesen Yachts - Maia yacht

Car enthusiasts will easily recognize how Project Maia’s exterior lines are inspired by contemporary and classic car design. The grilles on the main deck aft fashion plates, for example, are only one of the many design details that lend “contemporary” appeal.

Heesen’s traditional pelican bow, with its reversed sheer line, is perfectly integrated into the curvaceous shapes introduced by Clifford Denn for a timeless yet sporty look: Clifford has made us proud by creating something refreshingly new while respecting and interpreting the Heesen family feeling.

Outdoor spaces are carefully thought to maximise the balance between the yacht’s interior volumes and exterior spaces. The result is 250 square metres of deck space arranged over three levels.
Sun deck statistics? More than 68 square metres of space and an overall length of 16 metres for guests to enjoy and relax.

We appointed Reymond Langton Design, with whom we successfully created the award winning interior of Ann G, to design Maia’s interiors.

They have created a beautiful, classic and homely design that works both as a comfortable and elegant private yacht but, can also accommodate charter guests if so desired.

Project Maia just entered the outfitting period at Heesen shipyard in Oss, and will be available for delivery in 2018 after intensive sea trials in the North Sea.
