Azimut Yachts introduces Azimut Atlantis 43

    – World premiere at the Düsseldorf Boat Show 2015 –
You couldn’t ask for more: the new Azimut Atlantis 43 is destined to be the new standard setter for its class. Bold and sporty on the outside, cool and refined on the inside, the latest Atlantis Collection offering is unadulterated Italian design and content.

Made in Italy excellence aboard the Azimut Atlantis 43 with the freedom to select prestigious Italian designer fabrics, by Missoni, Armani, and Loro Piana Interiors.

Making its world premiere at the Düsseldorf Boatshow 17-25 January 2015, the new model exemplifies the Italian boatyard’s ability for continuous innovation while retaining their trademark style.
Azimut’s extensive experience produces a truly appealing open version, with smart and functional solutions to meet every need. The deck is this boat’s real centerpiece. Transformable and functional, it features two large three-person sun pads, one to the stern and one to the bow. The large hard top offers sun and wind protection, providing a welcoming and comfortable shelter.
With a one piece windshield and lateral picture windows, the Atlantis 43 offers its guests unprecedented amounts of natural light that can also be modulated thanks to the large, electrically operated soft top.

The exterior living area is equipped with a large dining room table, C-shaped sofa, and kitchen area. The relaxation area next to the pilot station quickly transforms into forward facing seating, providing a comfortable vantage point from which to enjoy every moment of the cruise.

The stern area with 3.5 sq.m. of decking is a masterpiece of engineering. Accessible via two sets of steps on each side, this amazing terrace on the water can be used to haul in and launch the tender or other water toys perfectly housed in the garage under the stern sunpad.
The same engineering standards of above deck can also be found below deck.
To the bow, there is a full-height boatowner suite with incredible natural light thanks to the hatch and extensive picture windows along the sides.
Equipped with an exclusive bathroom complete with separate shower stall, in this cabin as in the rest of the below deck areas in the Atlantis 43, there is also plenty of stowage space for luggage and equipment.
There are two closets and two sets of wall cabinets, as well as a large compartment accessed by tilting the bed.

Located astern, the guest cabin has no shortage of light or space. However, its real secret is its transformability. The sliding beds mean you can choose between a queen and two twin beds, a feature made even more unusual by the option of adding a third bed along the left-hand wall.

The heart of the interiors is the living area. Located amidships, it is comfortable and welcoming with a kitchen zone (sizeable and well equipped), and a dinette with a height-adjustable table that also converts into a bed. From here you can reach a second onboard bathroom which also includes a separate shower stall. This can either serve the guest cabin or function as a daytime bathroom.
The new Azimut Atlantis 43 is powered by two V400 HP Z-drive Volvo Penta D6 engines for a maximum speed of approximately 33 knots.

  • Van der Valk delivers Jangada

    Van der Valk delivers Jangada

Second yacht in new Continental Three range

Van der Valk Shipyard in the Netherlands has launched the 25-metre Jangada, the second motoryacht in its Continental Three. The design was realised in a close cooperation with Nick Top, Guido de Groot and the experienced owner. Together they have created a highly distinctive look which combines an overall modern appearance with subtle classic touches.

Jangada is a fine example of the myriad options available for Van der Valk owners in general and for the Continental Three series in particular. For example, Jangada is fitted with the Volvo Penta IPS system, a joystick-operated pod-type boat drive system with counter-rotating forward-facing propellers. Yet the Continental Three series is also perfectly suited to a conventional shaft driven propulsion system.

In a similar vein, the all-aluminium Jangada has a semi-displacement hard chine, moderate V-shaped hull while future Continental Three owners might also opt for a fast displacement (round bilged), aluminium planing (hard-chine, moderate V hull design) or steel full displacement (hard-chine or round bilged) version.

The interior of Jangada was designed by Belgian designer Nick Top (appointed by the owner) and Guido de Groot Design. The foundations are whitewashed English oak and clean, straight lines, with a wealth of thoughtful details and a very open feeling.

The yacht’s layout and GA was established by the owner and Nick Top, with advice from Guido de Groot. Automatic sliding doors connect the saloon from the spacious aft deck area. A floating polished stainless steel stairway leads from the saloon up to the helm station and flybridge deck. The dashboard features both perforated full-grain leather and spotless rapello suede, produced by Moore & Giles from the finest hides and upholstered into an unprecedented cockpit console.

The main deck forward accommodates the day head, galley and crew quarters. The crew quarters comprise two cabins, a bathroom and a crew mess. An illuminated stairway grants access to the lower deck areas, which are divided into four cabins: the full-beam master with two walk-in wardrobes, the VIP suite, and two guest cabins. Each includes an ensuite bathroom, ensuring maximum privacy for owner and guests.

Jangada’s outside spaces are particularly impressive. The spacious aft deck features a large dining area with a small pantry, and provides plenty of shade thanks to the extended flybridge awning. The rest of the flybridge deck is uncovered and includes a U-shaped dining area, a wet bar with grill, sink, fridge and ice-maker, and a large sun bed forward of the two-seat outdoor helm position. The aft section comprises an Opacmare crane with a capacity of 600 kg and houses both a 4.5-metre tender and a PWC.

Van der Valk – Continental Yachts has been constructing both steel and aluminium motor yachts since 1968. The family-owned shipyard is located in Waalwijk, The Netherlands, with founder Wim van der Valk still a driving force behind the company. The yards offers their semi-custom Continental series of motor yachts, with the layout, interior and style of yacht offered as “custom-built” according to clients special needs and wishes.

  • Azimut Magellano 66

    Azimut Magellano 66

Magellano 66 a megayacht in just 20 meters that offers the freedom of long range cruises with the comfort and elegance of home.

The first model will be available starting in the summer of 2015, but the design of the Magellano 66 started long ago. It is built on the same foundation that makes all Magellano Collection yachts so special: the ” Dual Mode ” hull. The goal is to offer a versatile boat that provides a comfortable ride even in moderate to rough seas. Accomplishing this required developing keels that were profoundly different from those found on planing hulls. Magellano hulls soften the impact of waves, cutting through them with the vertical bow. At the same time, the significant forward volume minimizes pitch and provides constant buoyancy support, even when the boat is descending the trough of a wave. As a result, the water has a hard time reaching the main deck, providing a sense of security both to those piloting the vessel and their guests. The Magellano is a design that allows you to eat up the miles; the pleasure of cruising in its purest form, under the banner of Italian Design elegance.

The Magellano 66 takes this philosophy even further with surprisingly spacious interiors for its 20 x 5.4 meters. The main deck is all on one level; it has a large sliding door facing out over the cockpit all the way to the bow where the pilot station and galley are located. The main deck features elegance, functionality and a breath-taking view of the horizon. Highlights include a large L-shaped sofa facing an impressive bar cabinet, up to 50 TV cabinet, and a dining table oriented across beam. All this comes with the standard version of the Magellano 66.

There is also a Navetta version. Positioning the internal stair amidship means the saloon/dining area can be separated from the piloting and forward galley area, for unprecedented privacy surpassing that of even bigger boats. The crew can carry out their jobs without having to access any of the boat owner and guest spaces. The door to the side walkway is from the galley, allowing the crew to reach their own cabin without crossing the saloon. At the same time, the boat owner and guests can access the saloon from their accommodations, without having to cross the galley and piloting station. The Navetta version also enjoys an expansive view out over the water, with sliding doors and panels that also facilitate mooring.

On the outside your eye is drawn to the integrated terrace to the extreme aft of the flybridge, a design detail that puts the Magellano 66 in the big leagues. The culmination of a spectacular open deck, the terrace can be outfitted for the perfect relaxation environment, complete with comfortable cushions, scenic lighting, and an awning to shade the living area. Just like the Magellano 53, at the bow of the Magellano 66 there is an additional lounge area, here even more welcoming and private.

The storage space for all on-board and free-time equipment is unparalleled. There are enormous storage spaces in the bow and on the flybridge. On the lower deck, there is a large owner suite at full beam. Here, the spacious quarters are bathed in natural light for an elegant but also practical space with ample stowage. The owner has all the space they’ve always wanted with his and her spacious closet, chest of drawers, vanity, and an additional huge storage area under the bed.

The closets in the VIP and guest cabins receive the same attention. Both cabins offer something extra because, as everyone says, there is never enough space on board. The fourth cabin is designed as a utility room but, upon request, can be outfitted as a cabin with bunk beds. The washer and dryer are conveniently located along the corridor.

With two Volvo Penta D13 800 HP diesel engines, Magellano’s performance is perfectly in line with the philosophy of a modern Long Range yacht. Travelling at 9 knots in full displacement mode, it has a range of over 900 miles (including a 10% reserve). The double chine Dual Mode hull provides a purposeful shape that optimizes cruising both in displacement and planing modes, for a cruising speed of 16-18 knots and a maximum speed of 22 knots.

  • Azimut 77S Innovation for beauty’s sake

Azimut 77S Innovation for beauty’s sake

Four boats sold in pre-launch: the Azimut 77S seems to have already taken the road to success in the wake of his younger brother Azimut 55S, the best-selling of which, two years after the launch, were produced as many as 40 units. The yacht embodies that special synthesis of stylistic innovation, technology, and functionality found in all the Italian boatyard’s latest models. The pivoting stern platform for maximum flexibility, the wave-piercing vertical bow “for the first time introduced with the Azimut 55S – the single large deckhouse window, the glazed roof, superior performance, and enhanced fuel efficiency thanks to three engine configuration coupled with Volvo Penta IPS transmission are just some of the main features.

The most striking quality of this new jewel in the Azimut Yachts S Collection is its streamlined silhouette designed by Stefano Righini. The furnishings and interiors by Carlo Galeazzi are the ultimate in style, with the polished Zebrano wood and hand-sewn leather rendering them breathtakingly precious. There is no doubt about it, Azimut 77S is beautiful.
Yachts middle east - Azimut 77S - interior
Azimut 77S is also extremely functional, light-filled, and spacious. The salon and dining area are an explosion of natural light coming from the large lateral windows, the nearly three-metre wide glazed entry doors, the bow windshield, and most of all from the glazed roof. Azimut 77S is literally full of surprises. The crew area is below deck to the stern. It includes two cabins and a bathroom with separate shower, accommodating up to three crew members. The owner cabin is at full-beam amidships and is a real spatial tour de force. The VIP cabin to the extreme bow is also spectacular, as are the two lateral cabins, obviously each with its own bathroom. Triumph of space on the sundeck too with and a large sunpad and a pilot station.

The innovative features of the Azimut 77S just keep coming, including the engine room. Instead of the more traditional two engines set up, the Azimut 77S is equipped with three Volvo Penta 900 HP Diesel engines, each with IPS transmission. The avant-garde solution means that the engine room is better organised and takes up less space. It also provides for maximum ease of handling and steering and ensures outstanding performance coupled with greater fuel efficiency. This model also has a specially designed keel for superior performance with a maximum speed of more than 36 knots and increased fuel efficiency of approximately 350 l/h at the cruising speed of 32 knots.

The new 77S joins the other upcoming season offerings – the Azimut Grande 95RPH and the Azimut 50 Fly “debuting at the September 2014 boat show in Cannes. The yacht embodies beauty and sportiness, further incontrovertible proof of Azimut Yachts ” role as ” ambassador of Made in Italy boating worldwide”.
