Exciting launches and new orders
A year to remember for Van der Valk
Van der Valk has had a very inspiring 2016. We completed two yachts and received a number of new orders – a testament to the vision of our clients and skill & dedication of our craftsmen and engineers. Moreover with several other yachts still under construction there’s lots to look forward to in the year ahead.
Among the 2016 deliveries is 23M Grey Falcon. She sports an exterior profile designed in-house and an interior from the boards of Guido de Groot. Her triple third-generation Volvo Penta IPS 1050 engines give her a maximum speed of 32 knots, making her one of the fastest vessels built by Van der Valk to date.
Life’s a beach
Another highlight of the year was Van der Valk’s new and genuinely unique (the patent is currently pending) concept for mid-size motoryachts developed together with designer Cor D. Rover and Ginton Naval Architects. The all-aluminium Van der Valk BeachClub line will provide owners and their guests unprecedented amounts of space, both inside and out, by locating the engine room in the same area as the swimming platform. The first of these innovative motoryachts, the 18.60-metre BeachClub 600, is currently under construction.
Celebrating 50 years
The year ahead is set to be even more exciting for Van der Valk as we celebrate our golden jubilee. The yard will be expanding its facilities (watch this space for more information soon), and we will deliver no less than seven new vessels: three Flybridge yachts of 18, 23 and 27 metres in length, two 26-metre Raised Pilothouse yachts, a 25.50-metre Explorer and, not least, the all-new BeachClub! There are also a number of refit projects booked.
We look forward to sharing news of these and other milestones throughout 2017. In the meantime, all that remains is to wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a happy new year.
